MAY 25th • All Day
All Hands on Deck(s) Stream—A-Thon

A global day of binge watching Star Trek: Lower Decks to celebrate the show, the cast and crew and lend our support for more adventures of the U.S.S. Cerritos!

.

Mission Brief

Calling all Lower deckers! On April 12th Paramount+ announced the upcoming 5th season of Star Trek: Lower Decks will be its last The cast, crew and fans have all expressed a strong desire to go beyond this season.

As Mike Okuda, a graphic designer best known for his work on Star Trek, posted to social media:

One of the ways that the success of a streaming show is measured is by the number of minutes that each episode is streamed. If lot of fans replayed each episode a lot, it is conceivable that that could make a blip in the ratings.

Our goal is to make that blip!

  • Lower Decks! Lower Decks! Lower Decks!

    Star Trek: Lower Decks
has captured the hearts of viewers worldwide with its witty take on the lesser-seen aspects of the Starfleet experience, focusing on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet's least important ships, the U.S.S. Cerritos. The series is lauded for its clever storytelling, deep respect for Star Trek lore, and for being just plain funny in a time in history where we sometimes need humor just to get through the day!

Season five of Lower Decks is in production now and will be airing later this year. Unfortunately, we recently learned the 5th season it will be its last season.

Five seasons of any show in modern television is a major accomplishment only matched in modern Trek by Star Trek: Discovery also ending this year. But there are many more stories to tell with unique opportunities afforded by the medium of animation and the creators of Lower Decks didn’t plan on the upcoming fifth season being its last.

We understand Paramount is highly unlikely to un-cancel the show, but Lower Decks could find a home on another network, like the other animated Trek show show Star Trek: Prodigy did, or maybe have a concluding “Long Trek” streaming movie.

As Mike Okuda, a graphic designer best known for his work on Star Trek, posted to social media:

Dedicated to John Trimble

John Trimble, alongside his wife Bjo, played a pivotal role in the history of "Star Trek" by spearheading the monumental letter-writing campaign that ultimately saved the show from cancellation after its second season. This effort not only secured a third season but also set a precedent for fan involvement, demonstrating the power of a dedicated audience in influencing entertainment. The success of their campaign helped "Star Trek" reach syndication, allowing it to become the enduring franchise we know and love today. John's vision and initiative essentially laid the groundwork for the vibrant, active fan community that continues to support and expand the "Star Trek" universe. His legacy is a testament to the lasting impact that passionate fans can have on the survival and evolution of their favorite series.

Sadly, on the morning of April 19, 2024 John passed away. We wanted to honor the legacy he left behind - truly none of us would be here talking Trek today if it wasn't for John.
